STAND ALONE FUEL TAX (IFTA) NOW AVAILABLE FROM KEYSTONE

If your company has been thinking about an integrated software solution, but you are just  not ready to "make the plunge", we have an alternative for you. You can now purchase Keystone's Fuel Tax (IFTA) as a stand-alone program. You can upgrade to the full Keystone Truck Software package at any time, or just continue with this module.
For years, Keystone clients have enjoyed the ability to easily calculate their IFTA information. When used with our full package, the IFTA report is normally just a by-product of your normally daily entry work.
We now have a stand-alone version of our Fuel & Use Tax with IFTA. Just enter your fuel purchases and miles traveled. Miles can be entered by the trip, day, week or month, whichever is easier in your work flow.
The report calculates all the necessary information for your state. There are many options to tailor the layout of the IFTA report,  and it is acceptable for direct submission by many states. Otherwise, the information can be easily transferred to your state's own form from the comprehensive report. By the way: Yes, it is an international standard, but each state's form is a little different!
Clients have told us this is the most complete and powerful package on the market. The software can also calculate use tax for those states still using ton-mile rates. We even include the ability to print Oregon's unique Motor Carrier's Monthly report with points of entry, exit, and highways traveled. You can also track and print information to file for a rebate on federal fuel taxes paid on refer fuel.

Sample IFTA Report

Some software packages require you to purchase quarterly tax updates, but Keystone allows you to enter any new rates at any time. Each rate is entered with an effective date, so whether you enter a rate to start next month, or just learned of a two-month old rate when you received your new report, the computer can still calculate the taxes for your selected date range.
You can even analyze driver fuel purchasing performance and MPG driving efficiency!

NEW KEYSTONE DEMO AVAILABLE

CD-ROM The next generation Keystone Systems Demo is now being sent out to new prospects. If you would like to see the demo, it is available on every update CD. When you go to install your next software update (after 10/01/02), just click on the button labeled  "Run Demo From CD". This will automatically start the demo so you can view it. If you would like a separate copy of our demo CD, just give us a call. If you know of a company that might be interested in learning more about Keystone, just give Chris a call. He will contact the company to verify their shipping address and send a CD and printed materials out the same day.

And remember, if this is a new prospect for Keystone, and we close a sale from your referral, your company will get $250 credit toward future management package coverage!

CLIENTS ARE FINDING THE F1 HELP AND FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS VERY HELPFUL

Over the past few months, we have been putting a lot of work into the on-line Help available in the Keystone software.  From almost every screen in the software, you can press the F1 key and find out more about the screen.
There are other ways to access the on-line help, too.  From any menu in Keystone, you can click on Help and then Help again.  This will take you to the Help files for the program you have open.  From this Help screen, you can access information about the Master Menu setup.  You can also click the link to go to the Contents of the program you are in.   For example, the Contents for Trucking Help looks like this:

Help Contents Screen

You can double-click on any of the "books" to find more topics.  Or you can click on the Index or Find tabs to look up a specific topic about which you want more information.  For example, if you want to know more about the AR tab in the invoice screen, you could click on the Index tab and find the topic about the Invoice AR Tab.
From the initial Help screen, you can also go to the link for General Help.  The General Information Contents is where you will find a link to the Update Notes, which contains a list of all the changes and additions to the software.  This is a great way to find out about a new feature that has been added to the software that may be very useful to you.
There is also troubleshooting information about hardware, network and printer problems that other clients have encountered in the past.  Occasionally, we run across an issue that takes some research to resolve and we want to pass that information on to all our clients.
The  General Information Contents also has a link to "What All Users Should Know."  This is a recap of the "Helpful Hints for Windows Programs" that was included  in the  Keystone Training Guide when you purchased the software.  These are 14 hints that make using Keystone (and most Windows software) easier to navigate.  For example, you can find out how to mark a check box without having to use your mouse, how to get to the next tab using keystrokes instead of using the mouse or how to delete a line from a grid when you have entered the same item twice.  Are you tired of typing the whole date every time you need enter a date?  Read "What All Users Should Know" to find out shortcuts for entering dates!
Frustrated because you would like to print a copy of a screen to use in a procedures manual or just for future reference but the Print Screen key doesn't seem to do anything?  Again, you can find the answer you need in "What All Users Should Know."
Another important section of the  General Information Contents is Frequently Asked Questions.  All the FAQ's for Keystone can be access from this one screen.  The Frequently Asked Questions are just as helpful to the "seasoned veteran" as they are to the "Keystone rookie" because both everyday and the unusual or once a year topics are covered.
While a new user of Keystone might find "FAQ HOW TO ATTACH MORE THAN ONE INVOICE TO A TRIP" very helpful when they are just getting started, both the new and old user will find "FAQ HOW TO CORRECT 1099 AMOUNTS" helpful at year end.
The Frequently Asked Questions are just that–questions that are asked all the time by our clients.  If a question seems to be asked quite frequently throughout the year or in some cases only during year end closing time, we have tried to make the answer readily available to our clients.  This can save you time in having the answer to you question literally at your fingertips!
While a lot of time and work has gone into writing and refining the Help files, this is a continuous, on-going project.  Keystone's intention is to update the Help files to reflect any changes in the software to provide you with the most comprehensive on-line support possible.  Take some time this week to look at some of the Help files throughout the system.  And if you find a mistake, let us know.  If you have suggestions as to additional topics to come, we want to know about that, too.
